By making a font editor, I can finally fulfill a dream of mine: Say goodbye to the Mac platform. I’m not using it by choice (any more).

I have not been able to find better hardware, though.

Which is why I’m particularly looking forward to Asahi Linux’s upcoming early 2026 DisplayPort Alt-Mode driver integration (it’s a reverse-engineering project) so that I can finally use my big screens.

Linux on the M-series Macs is snappy!

The more of their work gets upstreamed into the Linux kernel, the more different distributions you will find that support the ARM Macs.

That’s a bright future.

RE: @counterpunch@typo.social

If it’s 2026 and you’re not making a brand new font editor...

what are you even doing?

The campaign to evacuate Gaza type designer Hasan Abu Afash has reached 22,500€!

Repost & donate: https://gofund.me/bd5aa485

Attached some photos of 1) the apartment they left behind, 2) the family before finding a shelter and 3) their current shelter in Rafah.

Together we can do this.

Also I’ve posted an update on the campaign regarding an almost complete legal screening of GoFundMe’s legal compliance team. I will soon be able to prove the compliance with a document.

Stay tuned & donate!

Replying to

@admin@typo.social I also have a concern: I believe I was unlawfully censored by you twice, because I believe you don’t have the judicial powers to limit my constitutional right to freedom of speech. I believe you have censored me *voluntarily* and I find that *deeply* concerning and unnerving given the severity of the topic at hand.

Replying to

@admin@typo.social Yes, I have a question: What is "the law" regarding free speech on a decentralized platform regarding describing Israel’s "war" as genocide or a holocaust, or using the words concentration camp to describe decades of full blockade of Gaza, during an unfolding series of unconscionable events? This is a serious question. Despite me asking three times, you don’t have an answer.

@carlstype@typo.social Early alpha, not usable yet as an actual editor, just to clarify.

@jectives@typo.social It’s such depressing content, though. As if indie type designers never existed.
