@GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social highly concerned to read in that link "a Microsoft plan to bring the popular OpenClaw AI tool to its Microsoft 365 suite of products". My experience of openclaw is that it downloaded software from the internet, ran it, then denied all knowledge when I challenged it. Getting that kind of security liability distributed with microsoft 365 seems like a catastrophe in the making! #openclaw #microsoft

@khobochka@mastodon.social there's clearly a free rider problem, where these LLMs benefit from other people's work to train their models. In my view, when you use other people's data to train your model that should give them a partial copyright over the model, as the model becomes a derivative work. It's one thing a search engine crawling as that will send traffic your way, but an LLM crawling is all taken, no give.

@martenson@mastodon.world it may well be impossible to create genai without access to copyrighted material... Such entitlement to think they can use other people's work without payment let alone credit! They're treating the fact they used people's work as a trade secret
