"It's a bit shit but so what". Playing about with layers using three colours and applying the paint with paper towel, bits of cardboard, brayer a round ended stick. I've called it a bit shit but so what but I kind of like it 🙂

My summer project inspired by the work of graduate Erika Coupek, whose work explores the representation of women across visual culture and history, particularly her piece On Display. I wanted to show how even strong female film characters are subjected to voyeurism but by focusing on the eyes instead of their looks, flips the male gaze...... I hope 🙂
Mixed media: inktense pencil, acrylic, cardboard, paper, craft wire, acetate sheets
Measures 37x26 inches

Work in progress, planning on doing all 4 but starting slow. Having seen them in Glasgow just had to 🤩. Been struggling to get motivated and painting humans I'm a fan of always gets me back into my mojo 😁

This is a 36x48 inch canvas, and is the largest acrylic painting I've done. Got totally into the zone today and think I'm finished. Paint still a bit wet so will see but I'm liking at the moment. That may change tomorrow haha

Been working on this Metallica painting the last couple of days. This is acrylic and pen on torn paper (deliberate). Around 27x23 inches. Loved doing this and it's helped me to get back into my flow 🙂
(Is a bit lighter and darker than it looks here due to the lighting)

Alan Cumming as Leo. All the cast absolutely fantastic in #TipToe so couldn't resist. Can't wait to see the rest of it. First face using these inktense pencils as well.

I love how open and honest Tracey Emin is about her life and i just love the way she talks about art and how much it means so decided to draw her. This is graphite on a3 sketchpaper

Some test a3 size drypoint etching prints of dead sunflowers. Not too bad considering I used the back of a spoon as a printing press😆. Also only on sketchpaper but i can use as underpainting so nothing wasted🙂 . 2nd photo is the plastic plate etching I did.

Eat your heart out Andy Warhol 😉. Today I made these 14 edition b&w 2 layer screenprints of my tree shadows painting. They worked really well and the plan is to make them into 4 layer prints but if I run out of time I'm happy with the result of these as they are 🙂

Finished my A1 biro pen project I think. Self Portrait. My theme this semester I'm basing my work on is Death/Loss Of The Self. Also a couple of close ups of some of the text I've used within this, all lyrics from various songs 🙂

This semester 2 of us had to collaborate on a project. So myself and another student did this installation using found objects🙂. Represents our shared love of music (albeit different tastes), how music can evoke memories and feelings and is with us throughout our lives starting in our teenage bedrooms!
