Just got back from a visit to the free "seed bank" at our local public library. Every year, some business donates all the unsold garden vegetable seed packets from the previous growing season to the library. Despite being labeled "packed for 2025" (or even "2024"), most of the seeds are still viable and will grow for a few years after their original sell-by date.
The library fills an old card catalog cabinet with the seed packets. The selection varies from year to year, but there are usually at least some of just about every common (US) garden vegetable. They're free to anyone who walks in the door. Yet another reason we support our public library. ❤️
I hate cleaning and sharpening the blades on my mower deck. It's big, heavy, and awkward to flip over and work on. So I used some scrap lumber and rope to make a sort of kickstand for it. It doesn't really qualify as a woodworking project, but it makes the deck a lot easier to handle and work on.

@richrollgardener Really wish I could find woven wire field fencing (the kind with 6" x 6" openings) in something less than 330' rolls. Had some scraps at our last house and they made the best tomato cages.
It's 78F with 71% humidity, so it is officially summer at our house today. Brought the deck furniture up from the basement, brought (some of) the plants out of the house, and getting the barbecue grill ready to go.

@CurlyParakeet@mastodon.online Be careful with that thing! It's infested with earworms! 😀
Interesting article about getting medical personnel and supplies for dealing with the hantavirus case on the island of Tristan de Cunha, the remotest inhabited place on earth. With no airstrip on the island and the nearest airport being 1500 miles away, getting anything there on short notice is a challenge.
