@PapyrusBrigade@cosocial.ca Yea, I loved library ebooks but stopped using them, and now just take out physical books. It’s a shame we can’t have anything good

@Em0nM4stodon To add Proton allows for multiple forms of payment including crypto (not that private) and cash (also traceable). Credit cards are going to be the payment type most tied to your identify and there’s not a company you can name that won’t turn you over when presented with a warrant

Good morning Fedi,
I wonder if any #spider or #Bug experts could tell me what type of spider I’m dealing with here? Is it the type I should learn to live with, or are they safe to remove outdoors?
I’ve seen a few over the past week and have tried to let them be in the corner, however this one got really close while I was making breakfast. Didn’t love that
Maybe @futurebird@sauropods.win can help 🥺

@_elena@mastodon.social Yea. I’m hopefully that projects like Blacksky can completely break free of Bluesky, but being ignorant of how the tech works I worry there’s some kind of rug pull to come

@SecurityWriter@infosec.exchange Yea. As a paid Inoreader user it is. This made me look at alternatives and they’re all doing this as well as similarly priced anyway

@futurebird@sauropods.win And to add to that thought the creator has been really good about making the game accessible to the modding community.
Which makes it even more communal as people share ways to customize the game. You can also do co-op and share a farm with your friends

@1password@1password.social How about a basic model vs premium. Let us users who just want safe place to store things and easy website login in a cheaper price. Then put your watch tower and AI garbage in a higher tier. I’ve already cancelled but that could get me back

@aurynn@cloudisland.nz Based on the announcement they’re ending it for the PS6 which will probably launch in 2028
But yes. Sigh. I wouldn’t be surprised if more and more publishers preventively stopped

@aurynn@cloudisland.nz Same. I’m getting priced out of games either way with the PS6 expected to be $1000+ but I don’t see the value in it this way. A shame since I’ve owned everyone since the PSX

@Orca@nya.one @evacide@hachyderm.io This actually how you avoid this issue…your credit card is tied to you, full stop. Either pay with an alternative method or not at all

@Orca@nya.one With Proton you have the option of paying in crypto (this isn’t as untraceable as people pretend) and cash. But nothing is more tied to your identity than a credit card, and as you’re saying all companies are going to give you the option of renewing your sub via saved payment
Proton does not save your card info if you delete it
As much as I hate to blame users this really strikes me as an opsec issue on their part.
It’s a horrible situation but it sucks to see it sensationalized
