Wikimedia UK has been supporting the heritage sector to share their knowledge for many years, so the news of redundancies at English Heritage is a blow. Everyone loses from this loss of knowledge and expertise; not just visitors — including school groups — but also Wikipedia, which relies on high quality, independent sources.
Check out Sara Thomas' section in the first Wiki Learn News of 2025! Wiki Learn offers courses that support Wikimedians in developing key skills and knowledge. Sara's been using it in our Train the Trainer programme.
