It’s a Muppet’s Treasure Island kind of evening.

A gamer, a baker, a wannabe guitarist, and a history nerd. A Level 15 dad. He/him.
It was a reading, napping, and cooking kind of day. Tomorrow board games and leftovers.
Gaming plans were sadly cancelled for the day. Guess I will cozy up with my cat and read on the John Candy biography I got from the library.
I’m not sure I’m too old for rock n roll yet, but I’m definitely too old for it in 100 degree temperatures in an outdoor stadium. But both Pierce the Veil and My Chemical Romance were excellent and it was awesome to see about 40-50k people mostly young folks still loving rock n roll.
Did I get a book I wanted to read picked as a book club book so I could have the excuse to buy the book? Yes, my friends, I did.
It’s a watching Japanese drama, read, and play games in the evening kind of week. Now if I could do more of that and less of the work part, life would be more grand.
YouTube podcasts and guitar practice are not a bad way to spend an evening.
Working on chord changes, Metallica riffs, and watching pizza dough rise
Reading game rules, practicing guitar, and listening to Dio - RIP 🤘
Nothing makes me feel like being in High School again like arguing about who was better - Megadeth or Metallica? But that was my breakfast conversation with a bunch of high school robotics kids.
A friend has sucked me into Widow’s Bay which is delightfully creepy, have realized this weekend that I like standard Magic, but Commander is incredibly boring, and the Mandalorian and Grogu was just pure unadulterated fun.
@SJohnRoss@dice.camp I have to remember if I’ve made that, I know I’ve been making the apple crisp recipe for 40 years? One of my all time favorite desserts.
@SJohnRoss@dice.camp I grew up with the Moosewood Cookbook and Paranoia was one of the first games I played in high school.
@SJohnRoss@dice.camp the Two Towers is the hardest part. It makes sense to keep separate narratives separate but on the other hand I think it makes that part harder to get through. But I re-read it from time to time. Have read them to my daughter I think three times.
@SJohnRoss@dice.camp haha - no the Stephen Colbert news reminded me it was time to pick up the Lord of the Rings again.
It’s been a Rush week of interviews, stories, and music. Maybe I should try learning a Rush riff on guitar …… but I’m not sure I’m that masochistic yet. Alex is so good.
Am I watching an academic panel on Ninja? Of course I am.
Off to Nashville tomorrow for a concert and finished up a Stalingrad scenario with a friend Monday. Makes up for shoving 5 days of work into 3, because somehow I can never take time off without paying for it.
Had pear pie for lunch, finished one book and about to start another. And the noon bell is still a few minutes off.
Time to put on some Great White, get off the couch, do dishes, and start prep cooking for tomorrow
Listening to Richard Cheese, eating Cheese and Crackers, and reading the rules to a game called Space Empires.
