Finishing up the transhet thing and ggaaaaaaah I hate writing the synopsis, I hate it hate it HATE IT. I have never written them well, and I know because they never scream "hey this is interesting" to random passersby, they always scream "this person wrote an academic essay and had to shrink it down to match the word count." I end up having to do a first draft, second draft and fifth draft because I write paragraphs' worth of synopsis.

i hate synospis, I just wish we could do away with them and say "here's the thing, here's like 3 trigger warnings, good luck, figure it out yourself"

or maybe get someone else to write them for me lmao.

And also rethink the whole substar thing. Not getting any money yet, so thankfully I don't have to feel like I've stolen people's money if I ask them to move--but like. where else is there lmao. Patreon is too expensive for someone like me. (All the fees they ask of you before you even make an account now.) At the same time, it's not like I do a good enough job of maintaining these kinds of pages.

@RxD_RxT@denden.world Me realizing that, while I give birthdays to all my OCs, I...forgot to give them to the ones I've worked on for the past few years LMAO. Although the daughter of one has a bday on Valentine's just because it matches her caring, friendly and very open nature. (Valentine's in Puerto Rico is "Día de la Amistad," translated as Friendship Day, and it's more of a day for everyone, not just lovers.) I usually either pick a random date that feels like a good match or I try to pick a zodiac sign, then get the date from there. I never keep good track of when I created my children (except for the actual year) so...oops

Despite all of this, I always have so much on my mind, that I never remember to celebrate any of their birthdays

idk, I really like how it turned out. Hopefully when I finish the actual thing and go through it after a break, I don't take it out. I'm sure someone would say "take it out, it's not relevant!" but like... Some of my favorite things involve scenes that aren't "relevant" to the plot but they make the entire product LIVED-IN. Like peeking into a slice of real life through the irrealistic lens. How real life sometimes just has random scenes inserted while you go on your own journey.

Despite having made plans to finish "The Great Big Disconnect" before July, that's...not happening.

But I have finished writing and looking over a pretty cool story for something else! I'll give it a few more hours before I look it over and edit it and send it in.

I really love how it turned out. I'd like to say it's some of my best writing yet but we'll see how an audience thinks...

I don't (and can't) grind daily or weekly to have daily or weekly """"content"""", I generally feel actually really bad about keeping a lot of stuff behind money bars if it's stuff that legit used to be cool to share freely (WIP, resources, brushes, etc), I only feel comfortable asking for money if I actually have a thing like a pdf file-- My work is also generally not very attractive to most people, in ways that could start creating a Patreon-like page. Sometimes I feel like I was born in the wrong creator era lmao. But that's about it.

I did take a look at the jam and they say they happily accept WIPs because the point is to have fun and get some eyes on your story at any stage--which is cool, even if I unfortunately cannot function on "having fun" for a "having fun" event. I take everything too seriously lol.

BUT that does mean that I guess if all else fails, I'll just upload the WIP. I legit would only have the sex and ending scenes left.

To a limit though, because otherwise the whole thing will be unreadable lmao. But yeah! But yeah, see, I feel like...if it's a video game, I can sorta see the, uh, disconnect? If you're playing an otome game, you're expected to be inserting yourself into the MC. But a novel works differently, so ????
