@zachwhalen haha well done. did the same several years ago - forgot that the winter semester started on january 2 that year (it usually starts a week after new year's). had 4 hours to get a syllabus made and printed.

@nulleric@mastodon.social and as we've learned over the past few years: if it's backed up at internet archive, it's not really backed up. https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/i2btuu/utzoo_archives_have_been_removed_from_archiveorg/

@lexiconista@mastodon.ie 😭 😆

@polpo an SC88 Pro hooked up to an SE/30 is about as hot as it gets. just missing Cakewalk and/or Band in a Box 😅

@polpo looks like your refollows are working!

@maartje@blahaj.social do i detect the sweet scent of visual basic 6.x i absolutely love this. i have an IBM EduQuest 486 SLC running 3.11 that demands satisfaction

@maartje@blahaj.social lemme know where to mail the floppy to. i'll even pre-format it!

@maartje@blahaj.social !!! my first true love. my summer job boss (at an ISP when I was 15 years old) patiently taught me VB after work for the entire summer. to this day, after many languages and IDEs, i've never found a coding environment that I enjoyed as much.

@aurorapenguin@furry.engineer yes. i also have it backed up on my machines. but locked away in a vault is about as good to anyone as having it wiped.

@nazgul@infosec.exchange @benjedwards@mastodon.social @jsstaedtler@mastodon.art hahaha i love it!

@bodhipaksa@mastodon.scot it gets even funnier when your instance is misconfigured or acting up ;)

@tomw@mastodon.social this is one of the core theses of jane jacobs' (underrated!) book 'Dark Age Ahead'. i've thought about it many times over the past 20 years, and it has only become increasingly true over time.
