Something useful I wanted to do with all the Illustrator documentation I have collected over the years: fill the gap in James Wamser's Illustrator Feature guide. So over the past few weeks I have assembled the overview of new features in versions 1 to CS5. You can read and download the complete guide here: https://indd.adobe.com/view/0bff348c-febc-4351-8a11-8101037228d9 #illustrator #history
I love everything about fruit stickers ... that includes this article about them: https://www.alphabettes.org/roxane-loves-fruit-stickers/ #collecting #fruitStickers #design #typography

@mikehindleuk@mastodon.social Layers - you need to set them up on each child page (because layers in parent pages do not get put on the children). GREP styles. Tables across multiple pages. Composing engines (paragraph composer).

@suburbanindividual Das wäre an Deiner Stelle original meine Antwort gewesen.

@BijouType The shapebuilder is not so much about efficiency, it just isn't very efficient. It's rather about intuitive handling. Pathfinder is about efficiency.

@eWalthert Oh, those are in great shape! I would be very interested in the older ones - I have the CS5 and CS3. But would understand if they are only available together.

@kielkontrovers @a AI is built into all the autotracing algorithms of the major apps and web services (except Inkscape). It did improve them, but still they lack a ton of actual intelligence.
Illustrator's lasso tool can go where no other selection tool can go. Check out the magic trick in this short video: https://youtu.be/RO1MNflS_yg

@datn My vote applies to flip phones. I had one for a decade, still the phone I had the longest. Still regret having to replace it because the battery died.
