mastodon 4.7.3Tries to touch the earth lightly. ...fails most of the time but brushes off most of the dust and gets back in the saddle.
My dream house is a slender japandi tinyhouse inside a greenhouse built with wooden laminated bow arches covered with inflated ETFE cushions.
Horses and sighthounds pretty much sums up my life at this moment.
The makings of a small heat pump starts with winter cold air outside.
A greenhouse with inflated ETFE walls creates a warmer "bubble" around the already well-insulated tiny house inside.
The tiny house demands little heating so the heat pump can be much smaller than currently available units.
The brushless compressor is powered with 48 volts DC from lithium batteries, without the need of an inverter.

Thinking about getting myself a #bakfiets (two-wheeled front-loaded #cargobike). The idea has been cooking for years but I finally have the energy to do the research properly. ...and the necessary funds to make things real too.
1️⃣ Muscle powered
2️⃣ Lightweight
3️⃣ Regionally available
4️⃣ Not too expensive
I think I found a match yesterday.

@neverbeaten@mas.to - Just curious... Have you tried servo?

@neverbeaten@mas.to - More than ten years ago I replaced my TV with a big computer display (since some weeks back it is 34" 21:9).
It wasn't privacy that caused me to switch, but rather my dream of living off grid. The display uses less energy than a TV would and there's no need for an extra decoder unit as the computer does all that work anyway.
The tiny computer is my "stereo" too.

Where can I find a USB-c PD 3.1 unit that is powered by 48 volts DC (instead of 120/240 volts AC)?
Is there such a unit on the market?

This video tip is an ode to the diesel engine. ...but actually ends well. ...sort of.
For someone thinking green it is very much a challenge. One of the hardest problems to solve. ...but, as he predicts, quite possible.

This video surprised me in oh so many ways. ...and made me smile, something rare for me these days.
Seriously amusing.

According to the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI), this March has been the warmest on record in Sweden. The greatest differences have been observed in Norrland. In some areas, temperatures have been 7 degrees higher than the average for the period 1961–1990.

#TIL the word "refugia".
From Wikipedia:
"In biology, a refugium (plural: refugia) is a location which supports an isolated or relict population of a once more widespread species."
🌱
#TIL (today I learned) what the big capacitor does in a heat pump system.
