Here's a just now "AI is dumb, actually". Original: "se reunió con la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum en la Ciudad de México.". Google Translated: "met with Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum.".
You don't have to speak spanish to spot the problem. You do have to know she used to be the mayor, to know why it translated that incorrectly.

Still among the best money we as a company spend.
Aww, not the old MkLinux, a new mklinux :(
Really not enjoying todays episode of 'Is this a human or a bot posting patches'.
New boring tech thing. Not only did I make my August dotfiles update at the end of August this time, I finally started a repo for my "bin" directory. Initial state populated, and now dropping things I'd kept for vague reference, just in case, or laziness.
Having read https://blog.codeberg.org/protecting-our-floss-commons-from-llms.html myself now, OK, and people are upset by *that* level of restrictions? Sigh.
Does anyone have examples of using Gitlab (or some other CI) to build multi-platform containers, in a way that doesn't seem to just QEMU the non-native part? https://docs.gitlab.com/ci/docker/using_buildkit/#build-multi-platform-images-in-rootless-mode to me reads like it will just do everything on whatever runner gets the job. But I have fast enough arm64 and fast enough amd64 and so my manual multi-platform builds do the work on the appropriate host. Of course, manual builds aren't a modern best practice.
If you read the U-Boot mailing lists via gmail, please note that you've likely been unsubscribed today due to "excessive bounces" from the mailing list point of view, and because Google did something annoying I assume, in reality. Please consider re-subscribing with no delivery and then use a public inbox such as lore.kernel.org to read the list itself. (boosts appreciated).
Has anyone out there configured b4 to work with https://marc.info/ ? I've tried setting b4.midmask but b4 still isn't happy with the result, even if I try https://marc.info/?i=%s&q=mbox and I don't know if it's the redirect that gets performed, or the result isn't quite what b4 expects to parse. #b4 #linux #git
(Not tagging everyone) So now that I know what to again try for setting up SyncThing on my phone, I need to find a simple markdown editor, again, as the last one I was using isn't on the store anymore it seems. Recs welcome :)
Didn't commit my personal dotfile changes for Feb, but have for Feb + March, which goes with Dec + Jan being the last commit. This was largely finalizing a switch to Konsole and so a bunch of solarized (or at least coloring) related changes.
Scary bit of spam in the moderation queue this morning. A junk email address which has subscribed but had the moderation flag set.
Today I finally learn about vim undofile/undodir and how to set the swap dir to somewhere else. Now it all nicely lives in ~/.cache/vim/ and with an mkdir -p call in there too, so I don't forget on my next machine those have to be created.
