My notebook is faster, since I replaced the keyboard!
This is not a joke. The keyboard bezel is the central structure everything is attached to on the #Thinkpad X13s. So to replace it, you really need to disassemble everything. Including the heatsink and reattaching it with fresh thermal grease. By coincidence the stuff I used seems to be better than the original. So now the thermal throtteling doesn't kick in anymore.
But the underside does get a bit warmer now.

At least if I could endure the long months until delivery (current orrders are expected to be shipped in September...)

@cmister26 @hart Ich komme auf andere Zahlen. Wohne aufm Dorf. Der Windpark hier hinterm Haus hat laut Betreiber pro Anlage 3 MW Nennleistung.
Eine Umdrehung dauert hier ca. 4sec. Das sind also pro Umdrehung ca. 3.3KWh
- Mit meinem Laptop (ca. 8W Durchschnitt) komme ich damit auf 412h
- mit dem E-Auto hingegen nur auf ~20km.
Nein, ich argumentiere hier nicht gegen Windkraft.
P.S.: 50W für deinen Laptop im Durchschnitt halte ich für SEHR viel.

@ElOssiPolar@digitalcourage.social @andreasofthings@23.social Man könnte das ungefähr so machen, wie bei der Rente und einfach 18 Jahre von der durchschnittlichen Lebenserwartung abziehen.
In Deutschland wäre das dann: Wahlrecht nur bis 63 (aktiv UND passiv!) Bei Europawahlen bis 65 und je nach Bundesland auch bei Kommunal- und Landtagswahlen bis 65.

Ich hab hier gerade wieder über 24h Totalausfall bei #DeutscheGlasfaser (Lösungszeit: unbekannt).
Habe die 2. SIM meines Congstar-Vertrags (eigentlich für's Notebook gedacht) an einem alten Handy als Backup am Router. Soweit so gut für jetzt.
Da ich solche Ausfälle zukünftig häufiger erwarte und hier aufm Dorf keine andere Wahl als DG oder lahmes DSL habe: Wo will man günstig einen Backup-LTE/5G Vertrag abschliessen mit >=100GB (nur Telekom-Netz Empfang hier)?

@claudius@darmstadt.social @ascherbaum@mastodon.social For me touchscreens are useless. (Had them twice, never found a usecase). P-Series is too bulky and heavy for me. I'm more the X-Guy. Even the T-Series is to big for my taste.
My X13s Gen1 (Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3) only has 2x USB-C (including the charger), which is OK for ~1kg. The small port replicater is always in the bag, in case I need it.
The 1.5kg of the FW13pro are what would concern me most. (OK, Ctrl/Fn are also "wrong" on the keyboard, but I could deal with it)

On my desk I have a TB4-dock, with all the stationary periphery I need with just one cable. And it works with my personal Thinkpad and the work Macbook (and even a MacMini M4).
Actually one of the reasons, why I replaced my X250 was the missing Thunderbolt/USB-C. I always had to plug in the charger, ethernet, MiniDP, USB-hub... I really don't miss that.

Seit heute 14:50 hab ich wieder Licht. Das waren dann 39h 19min. Und 35GB über LTE (wir haben uns etwas zurückgehalten)
