I have a Canon combo scanner and inkjet printer, which is now essentially bricked because Canon ships these units with a page counter that once reached prevents use until it is serviced by Canon. The excuse is that the ink absorbers may overflow. A DIYer could change these themselves, but not reset the counter. I’m never buying another Canon product again.
