mastodon 4.7.3Assistant Professor @ND_CSE. Working on HCI+AI for automation to address societal challenges on the future of work. Formerly @cmuhcii@hci.social and @grouplens .
If you wonder what we've been up to--Introducing VISAR, a GPT-powered AI assistant🤖 to enhance argumentative writing with rapid prototyping & visual programming🚀 If you want to try it out, let us know! We are planning a public deployment in a few weeks.
The design and development of VISAR were led by my Ph.D. student @roryzzhang and aided by Jie Gao. This project is a testament to a **very interdisciplinary** collaboration with @ranjodh@mastodon.social from Notre Dame English Dept.

After CHI, CVPR, and now NeurIPS. NOLA seems to be a popular target of nerd hurricanes this year.
Thanks to @nickmvincent@hci.social for a great seminar at Notre Dame on data leverage for users, data strikes, and data dividends to empower the public and mitigate the harms of AI! Check out his work if you are interested in these topics https://nickmvincent.com
