Not many fungi growing on the west coast of Canada right now, but I spotted these beauties on a hike today. I believe them to be Urnula pedeniana. #mosstodon #VictorIaBC #fungi
A small find of Verpa conica, and a single Morchella (esculenta?) from yesterday's hike. It's a bit late in the season to be finding these fungi, but it has been a cold spring. Maybe I'll be lucky and find some more before the weather warms. #mushtodon #mosstodon #yyj #VictorIaBC

@edwiebe@mstdn.ca I should have guess that you were behind the Victoria weather station network. Using it now to find the warmest beach for a Sunday get together. Used it during the heat dome (2024?) to find the coolest beach :)

@0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange Oh that's too bad! Here in British Columbia, they're very common. When the salmon are spawning, they gather by the dozens near rivers and streams. The rest of the year they're a frequent sight in the sub-urban forests, usually getting harassed by crows and ravens.
