My favorite SQL query builder on #python is back on track after almost 4 years without releases since 0.48.9! Glad to see it hasn’t been abandoned completely.

It's so nice to see how much snappier @IceCubesApp@mastodon.online is now compared to, say, last year. I haven't kept track of the changes, but it's likely a combination of client-side, server-side, iOS 26, and hardware optimizations on the new iPhone.
I tried out an alternative to #Docker Desktop on mac OS 26 from #Apple today. It's basically usable. The good things are that it uses significantly less memory, doesn't require port forwarding, and allows you to access containers from the host using their names if you configure the embedded DNS service with two commands: https://github.com/apple/container/blob/main/docs/tutorial.md#set-up-a-local-dns-domain-optional
@erlend@writing.exchange I hope GitLab will manage to do everything they’re planning to join Fediverse. After that GitHub would need to hustle up do the same. I will help them with the roadmap:
- Add projects avatars
- Add release discussions
- Implement ActivityPub for releases
As someone suggested in the comments, I deleted this application. Now I can view images and documents without jumping between applications, as before iOS 26.
Well, on the one hand, it's convenient to write, and it seems to be okay to read, and you don't have to worry about calling it, and there's an understandable naming algorithm, but damn, when it comes to

you start to wonder why some people will hate you later
@pycharm@techhub.social has a handy feature like adding a name import by ⌥+Enter on an underlined unknown name. If you use it and suffer from the fact that the name is added to the existing "from" import at the end, and not in alphabetical order, as linters want, then this option will solve your problem. It is located in Editor → Code Style → #python → Imports.
@tintvrtkovic Yeah, I know about MISSING from dataclasses. But I’m not sure re-exporting it will actually solve any problem. And AFAIR a dataclass field with that MISSING default value assigned will be interpreted as “no default value provided” by the dataclass builder. As for TypedDict, you will still need to do something like dto.get("not_required", MISSING) to distinguish valid None from not provided.
