Finished The Fellowship of the Ring. Will go out with friends later so perhaps will post its entry in the reading blog later in the night or tomorrow (tomorrow more likely)

We did it gamers... I've put almost all relevant documentation on using a PC with your consumer CRT TV in one place. I appreciate comments, typo corrections and feedback

@dielan@shitposter.world I've wanted to shop for CD racks as mine have effectively run out of space. I resorted to putting some new CDs I bought in top of one but my cat managed to drop them in no time. Yes, I'm also shopping for jewel cases to replace the ones that broke

@Inginsub@clubcyberia.co > I can't play Timesplitters, it's a CD game and OPL doesn't detect the image file for some reason
Weird, I have played it on OPL. I don't remember if I did by putting the bin+cue in the CD folder or by instructing OPL manager to turn it into an ISO. Nevertheless, it's possible.
You can also try neutrino if it fails.

A couple years ago I had sort of a manic episode (actually I just joined the workforce and was working part time in the last semesters where I only had like three classes a week and had a sizable amount of free time) and started building and experimenting with arcade controls.
It was a really enjoyable hobby and it stemmed of a desire of mine of owning an arcade stick, desire I've had since high school at the very least.
Little of it remains today, save for an arcade controller which, despite its quite terrible finish, I'm rather proud of and it's still kind of my daily driver, even if since then I bought non working hori controllers and restored them and modded them.
I think this is the year I'll be back. Some time ago bought a compressor on the cheap for actually achieving a sellable finish and a friend of mine comissioned me a project diva controller. I'm currently adding some finishing touches in the design before I laser cut it and assemble it, but if it turns out okay and the finish doesn't make me or my friend cringe then maybe I'll start building them semi-regularly and see if they sell.
I actually have a codeberg repo with my designs, which also drink from another open source project whose name I don't remember. I should, because I need to add attribution in the repo. Will upload this too if any game rhythm fan is interested on building their own controller.

Crazy to think 50 years ago basically every band could find a dude who could perform cunnilingus on a guitar and it was normal.

AI has largely ruined the internet but I do wonder if the damage could have at least been contained a little if it wasn't as centralized and corporatized as it is now

@Inginsub@clubcyberia.co Oh, to be honest I've never meddled with forcing progressive as I play on a CRT TV, and didn't know that's how forcing progressive in OPL works.
Are you using a component cable? If you force progressive scan via GSM in OPL and it works then the TV shouldn't be deinterlacing the signal.

@lain@lain.com I remember reading it but dropped it, maybe should give it another chance. I do remember the prose and dialogue were good though.
I just want to sleep the sleep of ages, to know again the Great Rest, the perpetual bliss, to hear the songs the stars sing on the shores of the great sea.
