Subjam
@subjam@mastodon.subj.am
mastodon 4.7.3Subjam is a local music, live audio focused social network. We provide online tools for in-real-life music scenes.
Our (currently beta) app lets you broadcast and record live from rehearsal spaces, venues and anywhere else with a data connection.
Our next milestones are to develop local “scene” groups, artist sponsorships, and special venue and business profiles. Subjam makes money from sponsorships and (future) paid premium features.

AI has no soul.
Designed after the "Drum Machines Have No Soul" bumper stickers of yesteryear, we've refreshed for today's threats against music culture.

Hey all, Subjam is soft-launching our storefront with a handful of 'anti-AI' stickers, and other Subjam merch!
All funds go to helping keep our server lights on as well as advancing development, which we desperately need right now.
We appreciate you all so much, thank you for being a part of our vision.

We support original, independent musicians and we're standing up against AI in this space.
If you think you're not good enough to make music without AI, you're wrong.
I'd rather hear you make an awkward, off-rhythm drum beat that totally falls apart after 5 seconds than a perfect AI generated symphony. What you did was *real*.
You can't synthesize human expression without completely losing its essence and purpose.
Please stand with us 💪
Hey 👋😎 We're now hosting our own Mastodon server for underground and independent musicians, https://mastodon.subj.am.
We've migrated our account here and welcome you to join as well.
As our server description says, "We're the home of underground and independent musicians, bands, artists, fans, venues and others connected to their local music scene."
Just released these "NO AI" stickers about 3 minutes ago, hot and fresh. Available in the Subjam store: https://store.subj.am 😎
Same high quality, water resistant vinyl as the others. Your purchase supports @subjam@mastodon.subj.am - the Social Purpose Corp that stands with local and independent musicians, artists and bands everywhere in the world.
We're hosting a new hotline for Bellingham / PNW music scene updates on TeleHamster!
Subjam is for all the world's music scenes, but our HQ is in Bellingham so we're collaborating with this new private community telephone network to bring local musicians, music fans and others updates from the scene.
Call '7501' to submit an update, and '7825' to hear them all.

We’re a Social Purpose Corp (SPC) who’s currently building a new kind of streaming platform specifically for live and local music.
We’re out-of-the-box thinkers, not afraid to make waves. We’re musicians, nerds and entrepreneurs.
We see what’s happening today with music streaming, AI in music, and the continued struggle of independent, original artists.
Guess what? We’ve had enough of all that. So, we’re building something new and taking the power back.

We updated our Patreon benefits! Come check out cool swag that could be yours for supporting a live and local music broadcasting platform.
We're updating our Patreon supporter benefits today! Stay tuned for some cool new stuff for helping Subjam keep the server lights on and give our beta app the much needed love it deserves.
Our next feature goal is to implement scene-group support. This will allow users to create and join groups so they can communicate with each other more closely. We can't wait to do this for you! 🎶
We're setting a modest goal of $750/month to keep Subjam alive.
2/3 of this goal goes directly toward recurring costs:
- Server colocation
- VPS hosting
- Bandwidth
- Hardware & software
- Domains
- State and federal filing fees
- Bank fees
- Many other misc. recurring costs
Everything else goes to mobile app development and platform growth.
Please help us reach our goal! We can't continue without you.

We want your thoughts on Instagram and Meta as a company. Would you be so kind to take our 1-2 minute survey? 🎵💜
I’ve learned over the years that there’s a big knowledge gap in the world when it comes to understanding the legal landscape of music ownership. I find this topic fascinating, and terrifying in some cases (cue the classic horror movie orchestra). Anyway, here’s a story for your Friday afternoon:
