@bagder we should take that to the next level with a sh: protocol handler + QR codes! https://codeberg.org/sjmulder/sh-handler

sh-handler

Combine the ease of QR codes with the power of curl|bash

@icculus@mastodon.gamedev.place @idbrii@mastodon.gamedev.place I tried that, but it put reading AGENTS.md on the pile of things to do, happily churning through other exploration first, whereas text dirdxtly in CLAUDE.md would be immediately acted on, before anything else. In my project I ended up duplicating text between the files, but maybe a symlink would work too.

@icculus@mastodon.gamedev.place true. I did notice btw that I had to add a CLAUDE.md referring to this AGENTS.md for Claude to pick it up in the first place.

@icculus@mastodon.gamedev.place I tried adding that AGENTS.md , and indeed:

The project's own AGENTS.md ... clearly prohibits AI-generated code

one suggestion later:

Update (AGENTS.md) ... Done. Now, let me look at the codebase to add...

Holy Asimov!

@js I was close one time, a patch to show free space in fdisk or something, and then I saw it was just done in -current 😄

@hailey any chance you could do a writeup with a general overview of how it works? E.g. I'd be interested to learn how the cooperative aspects are handled, the syscalls, I/O, that sort of thing.

Programming some small DOS programs has made me learn a bit more about it, and real-mode programming in general.

For example, I thought DOS was essentially a single-process, full memory ownership sort of affair (sans resident code hacks), but that's not true at all. Multiple programs can be loaded at the same time, with DOS keeping tabs of memory allocations. The basic variant of this being one program starting another, and then the second exiting, returning to the first.

(But let's not make $-terminated strings a thing again! Or length-prefixed, \r-terminated strings, wat)

Presenting SUDO for DOS!

An implementation of sudo for DOS, to run the given command with full privileges. It can be used to edit important system files, run disk partitioning tools, and so on!

Trying to figure out networking and (OpenBSD) pf at the same time...

Basically, I have a secondary IPv4 address on my OpenBSD webserver that I want to forward to my IPv6-only Wii - as if the IPv4 address was the Wii's.

What forwarding mode is appropriate? nat-to, af-to, rdr-to?

@aurisc4@floss.social in fact GNU libc getopt() reorders argv to move the options forward, so that the "argc -= optind; argv += optind;" trick to keep just the positional arguments keeps working. (Classic getopt() stops at the first non-option argument, an optional behaviour for glibc)
