We are prepping to roll out our printable physical copies order form. Owing to laws both in the US and UK with excessive requirements regarding legal IDs and other such PII which have been shown to not be kept in a secure fashion, we have chosen to operate entirely via traditional post. Just print out the order form, check the boxes for the items you want, add the shipping and handling flat fee and include a check with the total to us & allow 2 to 6 weeks depending on distance and circumstances.

To the #textadventure fans out there, especially those in the #retrogaming circles, how do folx feel about parsers vs hot bars or menus for interactions? Parsers can be very free form but they do make localization difficult. Plus it demands players be able to read the dev's mind a bit. We could see menus might not be the most exciting, but do people like playing using a hot bar with like shortcut keys?

We've been having difficulty finding graphic artists to hire for some projects we're spinning up. This is leading us to seriously consider making them all text adventure games. It wasn't necessarily where our minds were at for these projects but it shouldn't require too much of a shift in approach.

Afterall we've heard from a few voices that our first title is a "text adventure with graphics." Perhaps we should lean into that?

Owing to a mix of no activity and Discord as a company committing itself to some fairly questionable practices, we have decided to take down the Silent Shoals Software Discord server.
