I wanna set up a #selfhosted runner for #CI in my new #Forgejo instance. I’d appreciate any thoughts on Forgejo Runner vs. #Drone vs. #Harness vs. #WoodpeckerCI. It’s hard to understand the relative pros and cons.
I’ve got a good amount of experience with #GitLab CI, #GitHub Actions, and (sighs) #Bitbucket Pipelines (plus a tiny bit of #Jenkins that we’ll pretend never happened), so I’m pretty adaptable.

@11ty@neighborhood.11ty.dev Thanks as always for this great overview, @bobmonsour@indieweb.social. I really rely on the Bundle to stay up-to-date.

@bobmonsour@indieweb.social @11ty@neighborhood.11ty.dev Happy birthday to the Bundle, and a huge thank you as always to you, Bob, for the wonderful work! I’ve enjoyed seeing the site evolve and I love finding out what’s new through these. The #11ty community truly is richer for having you.

I’ve dragged my feet enough… it’s time to gradually upgrade my three #Proxmox systems. I just upgraded one from 8.3 to 8.4. Another is still at 8.3. The last is still at 8.0. The newest version is 9.2. I’ll just bump everything to 8.4 tonight and let that sit before I tackle the major version. (`pve8to9` shows no issues on the newly-8.4 system.)
At last: self-hosted #GitLab Runner, meet self-hosted cache! No more remote object storage with bizarre rate limiting, so no more cache pull/push timeouts and absurdly long jobs. For those interested, I’m using s3proxy backed by a regular ZFS dataset.
Next up: move to #Forgejo Runner. That’s gonna take a while ’cause of the changes in Forgejo v15, though. I fully intend to procrastinate.

@bobmonsour@indieweb.social That was great, thanks for sharing. You’re an engaging speaker. I enjoyed the summary of your zigzagging career—including the timeline of your business cards—and all the memories it brought back of technologies long departed. I must tell you, I was excited to see the Jeffrey Zeldman book, but my jaw dropped at the photos of him, Eric Meyer, and Jason Santa Maria!

@bobmonsour@indieweb.social I can imagine. Looking forward to all the exciting things I’m sure are in store. 😊

@nixCraft@mastodon.social That’s some unwelcome news right there. I’ve been with DO for a decade. (Fortunately, I’ve migrated almost everything to my personal infrastructure at this point, so DO’s primarily a gateway now, which should mean it isn’t too hard to replace.)
