He's out-of-touch with a lot of operational details, and one of the most socially and politically inept American businessmen alive; yet he manages to juice both liberal and conservative administrations, and clearly has a bunch of smart people working for him. Most youth "rebellion" is often just blind conformity to a different, more compelling social group or authority than that of their immediate family. It is more prevalent in modern times due to both the cultural decline of family/kin as well as the wider accessibility of transport and communication technology.
