mastodon 4.7.3+vivaldimodTo summarise: #coffeeroasting, #breadbaking, #photography, #tech, #geek
Feeling rather chuffed with myself. I’ve set up a #RaspberryPi to act as an RSS aggregator, a read it later service and a podcast catcher all in the one.
Reason: so I can use open source apps on both iOS and Android devices AND keep everything in sync.

A little bit of noir drama.

I've just read this from #TheSpectator and the author is spot on. Where has the care gone from our coffee shops? #Pret is disappointment served on an unlevel table that rocks when you put your burnt bean drink down.
Insightful article about how #coffee prices indicate global turmoil ranging from climate impacts, war, and even piracy. Yet despite all this, most consumers are still willing to pay for the drink they want whether that’s from an artisanal local business or Greggs, who are now the UK’s biggest takeaway coffee provider:

I just got to Level 8 as a Google Maps Local Guide. Not sure what it means exactly, but I do like helping folk out with places to go.
Wrote the first of a few posts about hosting some useful web services on a #RaspberryPi
This photo was mine and I added some light beams and dust using Nano Banana in Gemini.
The typewriter is 100 years old, found in Brockhampton, #herefordshire. There's something fascinating about a machine so old, so mechanical and still working.
I imagined it had been sometime since a story had been typed on it. The morning light peers through, lighting the dusty keys saying "Today is the day to write."

Because I was a good person at work, I had some vouchers from work. Used them to get a National Trust membership.
Visited Croome Court to test it out.
Wow, I did not realise that William Shatner was 95 the other day!
@minione@mastodon.social Love this photo, it would make an excellent wallpaper for a desktop or mobile, something ghostly about it!
I enjoyed this post from @mozilla@mastodon.social relating social norms and restraint to that of the web, not needing to announce your name when you walk into a shop.
A big highlight was getting to experience #AndroidXR. I tried the Samsung Galaxy XR headset and a prototype pair of glasses.
Just on the way back from #mwc2026. It was my first time but quite a blast. Enjoyed #Barcelona and it’s historic gothic quarter.
