I have to say, Waffle Fry really goes well with my mustache.

I developed some photos the other night from a recent long weekend in Ottawa, Canada. Just got them scanned yesterday, and I'm quite happy with the results. I still have a black and white roll to develop. 🇨🇦
We landed in Alaska! Its a first time for the whole family, and we're super excited!
What a stellar quote!
> The machine ... is pretending that it is a tool of simple productivity, an obelisk of user-friendly efficiency. It is not. Your computer is 8000 rats in a burlap sack. To tinker is to reach inside the bag, remove a rat, and make friends with it.
I've been reading Picks & Shovels by @pluralistic@mamot.fr and hit the part of the book that makes me very hungry. A classic feature of Cory's works.
This morning, after five days in the Bay area, I'm treating the family to apple and cheese pancakes, adapted from The Moosewood Cookbook.
I made my first cheesecake today. Its delicious!
Sara and I have been exploring options to be able to move to Canada. It turns out that my great grandmother was born in New Brunswick, Canada. I've got a form out to the records office of the government to get her birth certificate to prove citizenship, so we'll see how that goes.
I'm often working with old code, and it's not that bad. It's even easier if you practice incremental maintenance.

I recently discovered the #GameDad site, and it really resonates with me. I've been playing a Game Boy of late, but also have a GameDad, and really like the concept of no obligation, filling time on your terms, and turn-off-ability.

I spent spring break in Arkansas, where I got to visit Crater of Diamonds State Park and Hot Springs National Park. I also go to try out the new Harman Switch Azure film, with some color couplers switched, which is really surreal.
Whelp! Looks like I've got me some skin cancer. It sounds like they can cut it out pretty easily and it's not fast growing, which is good, but damn is it scary to hear your doctor tell you you have cancer. 🫣
At Goose Island getting ready for the Yellowcard concert!
The Holga 135AC 35mm point and shoot is on clearance at Freestyle Photo for $14.99 (down from $45). I picked up two for my boys, along with 100' of Arista Edu 135 film so we can hand roll and develop together.

My youngest turned 7 today, and had his birthday party at Big Tim Ninja gym, where he's done ninja training for the last 2 years. This is my first time getting onto the floor to try the Warp Wall. It was a great birthday party!
This is an interesting correlation.

I started training for my Private Pilot certification a few weeks ago and just found out that I can't pass medical since I take Adderall for ADHD. Super disappointing, but at least I should be able to switch to a sport pilot license until I can get that taken care of. 🫤
