If I'm honest this surprised me. In my decades old experience "Linux" used to mean "terrible UI, annoying to configure and in need of constant tweaking". Honestly this has been set and forget in the best possible way. Also Kodi's UI is actually...good. TVHeadEnd not so much (you can tell just from the name, lol) but ever since I wrote the remote app, zero reason to ever go in there.

Bjango site update: audio plugins now have their own section! Also we've made 6 already...kinda wild. If you're on the fence try Double Freak, it's free! https://bjango.com/plugins/

@decryption@aus.social oh interesting. If you do set that up let me know how you go. I hate the TVHeadEnd UI, but I just wrote my own iOS app so I don't need to see it.

@dfgomes@mastodon.social I kinda use my email address promiscuously. The spam filtering is good enough that anyone can have it. Hide my phone number. Now that would be a cool feature!

@tonyarnold@mastodon.social good to have you back! But also share with us your wisdom from the mountain!

@jcbiz@hachyderm.io @ironicbadger@techhub.social @caseyliss@mastodon.social yeah it does, but for me I don't want just backup, I want a usable app to browse, search, etc.

@viticci love it! I figured this was what you were hinting at on yesterdays show!

@mattro@aus.social so it's not that it just takes forever, it actually crashes and can't do it? Any idea what the issue is?

@stevenimpson@aus.social interesting, so you use it more as a backup? Have you tried the app much? Is it any good?

@mattcomi@hachyderm.io where's "IBM Clearcase" on the list? 🤪😭

@isaiah@mastodon.social @stroughtonsmith@mastodon.social I suspect this is sarcasm but just in case it’s not: try reverting your changes and then re-running your prompts. You may get a wildly different outcome each time.

@johnlago@mastodon.social ah ok. I don't really shoot RAW so I don't think that would be an issue for me...unless you mean it can't support the HEIC photos the iPhone takes at all?

@sjtrny@mastodon.social interesting. Any downsides you've found vs iCloud? Are you self-hosting at home or on a VPS?

@subinkrishna@mstdn.social nice. I don’t have a synology but good to add that to the list of options. There must be some annoyances/downsides that you’ve found?

@ironicbadger@techhub.social @caseyliss@mastodon.social for sure, appreciate the insight. I'm not stranger to running servers and managing backups. I guess I was more interested in things people have found that have used it for a while that aren't deal breakers but might be annoying or unexpected?
