i'm still reeling from the firefox ux debacle.
it so obviously should have been a new theme. make it the new default theme and that would be a good way to let people discover the theme system.
instead it seems to be some low-level hack that messes up EVERY theme! it bypasses the theme system completely. so anyone discovering the theme system (like me) becomes doubly frustrated.
for the Nth time, i'm loudly wondering how we get firefox out mozilla's hands. the elves left a long time ago
i continue to not understand why "aura farming" posters (people who want to be popular, like celebs or journalists) post on private networks like bluesky/threads but then make it very difficult to *see the post*
like, if you post something to threads, but i can't read it unless i open a private browser window and turn off javascript, maybe this is not a great way to go viral?

i think the original post was about predecessors... i don't think any of the "mesh" networks back then had block lists, at least i can't recall any in fidonet or wwivnet
(you could also argue that there are several activitypub-based networks but only one that calls itself "the fediverse")
