It almost feels wrong to buy @getkirby@mastodon.social licenses at a discount—but if you’re so inclined (I grabbed 5 😬), there’s a 20% sale running until the 6th. @Overgoddess@bardicperspiration.club @tiefling@bardicperspiration.club @getkirby@mastodon.social Tough call; you’d need to be able to write PHP, but the Kirby docs and community are best in class IMO. A number of years ago I needed to choose a new CMS, and I spent a lot of time kicking tires and testing, including Grav. It’s been a while, though, and Grav now looks like a totally different product that guzzled the AI-koolaid. I’d choose Kirby for the people behind it and their ethics as much as anything!

Hello mastodon! Does anyone have feedback or resources to suggest on how a local business website could be more inclusive to non-binary folks?
I’m working with a client who has been questioned if they *are* truly a welcoming/safe space due to lack of images on the site that represent NB people. Fair enough!
I’ve known this client for decades and can vouch for their character. Can we make this clear without seeming reductive or pandering?

But even this implies the idea of including photos of people who “look” non binary. How do you address that visually? Perhaps through a *lack* of “obvious” male/female models? How do you quantify that spectrum?
I don’t know what I don’t know. But I know that I don’t want people to feel left out if they visit a website I directed or built.

Really like how you give each concept a unique name so you can easily talk about it. It’s those details that can make such a difference with clients, hey? And the site for Bruce Mayhew is fantastic! @elfkin@woof.group Good questions. It’s a service biz in the healthcare sector, so think physio, RMT, chiro, naturopath. The criticism as I understand came from a constructive place. As in, someone booked, but also discussed with the practitioner/owner about their doubts based on the website.
I guess it might be that I need to explore an education for myself as much as finding a solution for this specific client. As a cis white dude my own bias for photo selection might be the issue, you know?
