RPN screens sport cute Dolphins 🐬 chilling about... Speaking of RPN, we're winding down the offer on monthly plans ($2.5/mo -> $3/mo) in the coming days. Not 'cause we want more $$$ (which we do); but 'cause we can't afford it any longer.
Hopefully, y'all don't encounter any major bugs.
Intend to release v057 for Android TV. Not sure exactly when, but before Nov ends.

@bsm Crashlytics isn't necessarily a "trackerware".
For a firewall app like Android, stability is paramount. We tried & failed building a cost effective, scalable crash reporter ourselves.

Crashlytics isn't included in F-Droid builds, and it won't ever be.

Crashlytics is off by default (an end-user may opt-in from Configure -> Settings -> Stability program).

With v055v, an end-user will be able to create firewall rules (allow/block IP/Domain) to Rethink's own connections.

The F-Droid versions will not contain Crashlytics.

@streetcoder@mastodon.social @kuketzblog@social.tchncs.de The troubling part is, these institutions can move all of that (a/b testing, personalization, push notifications etc) to the backend and we'll never know by looking at the client-side network logs.
Perhaps, due to GDPR, we can expect to see these 3P providers listed as "sub processors".

@TeomaHK@social.tchncs.de Hi there, apologies. This has been reported before: https://github.com/celzero/rethink-app/issues/2219 And we've since made the fix & made the feature (causing the crash) optional in the pre-release v055u (but v055u has other bugs and isn't on F-Droid).
v055v is imminent. UI bits (for "RPN", which is paid) undergoing a bit of a refresh, & that's taking time.
