@Jessicadscott09@mastodon.online I always think of tropes as being like shortcuts. Familiar patterns. Narratives are whatever the author wants them to be, but a trope is a well-worn pattern in the carpet. For instance, "The Mighty Ducks" & "The Replacements" & "A League of Their Own" use similar tropes but have different narratives.
The #dog's latest habit is to demand to go out, then scratch to come in again 10 minutes later, only to want back out after a further 10-15 minutes, DC al coda, for about 3 hours every night. It's a good job we love her.
