"weibliche erfahrungen" sind für mich eher etwas, was mir mein leben lang verwehrt wurde und ich krieg echt panik, wenn von mir erwartet wird, dass ich diese verstehen würde! oder frauen im allgemeinen. wenn frauen (cis oder trans) aus ihrem leben erzählen, denk ich immer nur so "oh wow spannend, kenn ich alles gar nicht"
mir wurde gerade beim lesen klar, dass tatsächlich die erwartungen anderer leute das problem sind. ich will mich nicht von meiner vergangenheit distanzieren o.ä., sondern ich fühle mich wie bei einer prüfung, auf die ich nicht vorbereitet bin. hab vergessen als hausaufgabe mädchen zu sein und jetzt weiß ich da gar nichts drüber 😭

I think by now it's safe to say that Mastodon isn't working out for me. The mere existence of the local and federated timelines stresses me out because my posts always seem to attract Reply Guys™ exactly at the worst times but never when I have an actual question. I've also had random strangers boost my mundane life updates for no discernible reason (creepy) while my jokes and info posts largely went ignored.
Making all my posts private would not fix the problem. I do want attention *sometimes* and I've had much better luck interacting with people on Pillowfort, which is unfortunately not part of the Fediverse but more of a Tumblr alternative. I'm a big fan of the Fediverse in theory. Lately I've been exploring Bookwyrm because I finally got back into reading, and perhaps I'll eventually find more fedi projects that I enjoy.
The other big problem I've always had on here was that I just couldn't get my home timeline into a state where the ratio of posts that actually interested me to posts that didn't felt balanced. Pillowfort has communities, which work much better than hashtags for following entire topics instead of individuals, and it's easier to filter out stuff you don't want to see.
I guess I'll be on the lookout for fedi projects with similar features. Friendica sounded promising, but in the end it was too much like Facebook for me to stomach. If I do find something, I'll post about it here before eventually deleting.

I've been looking at userscripts for Duolingo and there are so many dedicated to cheating. I don't understand this - if you don't actually want to learn a language, why are you on Duolingo in the first place?!

When I was learning Latin in school as a wee little teenager, I actually enjoyed memorising all the various declension and conjugation tables for some reason. But that was before handwriting became painful and also I had physical text books! I don't learn such things very well from a screen. Gonna have to hope that repeated exposure will simply make it stick

I'm really enjoying the 3rd party web client semaphore.social for Mastodon lately. It's simple, the timeline is centered on the screen without any distracting sidebars, there are lots of handy keyboard shortcuts, and while switching accounts takes a few more clicks than would be ideal, the advantages outweigh that for me.
I did use a userstyle to hide the persistent new post box at the top, but that's only because I am currently using my keyboard to navigate and it was in the way. Now I simply press C to write a post.
