Spring is in sight!
Even magpie-larks need to touch on!
Today is one of the ten days or so of perfect weather that Melbourne gets each year. Great for a picnic lunch at Flagstaff Gardens.
Doesn't get much better than this!
DART routes running 30+ minutes late throughout the day due to lack of bus priority during North East Link construction works. Causing massive delays and overcrowding.
This is a completely unacceptable situation for the main public transport routes servicing the entire City of Manningham including Doncaster and Bulleen.
And not content with messing up the buses, North East Link works have again disrupted the route 48 tram as well due to "traffic impacts": https://transport.vic.gov.au/disruptions/disruptions-information/article/route-48-service-changes-from-10am-to-9pm-each-day-saturday-15-august-and-sunday-16-august-2
This is a completely solvable problem. It's just a question of planning and priorities.

Incredible turnout today at the largest local government strike in Victoria's history!
The message from the thousands of workers here today is clear - Council workers deserve fair pay.
Our wages have gone **down** in real terms by up to 12% over the past four years. Our pay increases have been as low as 1.5% a year, far below cost-of-living increases.
Enough is enough!

A new TV show is coming to Melbourne and Geelong!
The show is called "Stories of Victoria" and will feature ten episodes. These will be compilations of some of my existing videos, organised into themes.
Channel 31 is an amazing resource that has been around for decades supporting community-made content. It is not government-funded and has had a few near misses in recent years. Thankfully it is still around.
Stories of Victoria premiers tonight at 9:30pm (AEDT) and will show every Thursday at the same time. Watch on Channel 31, or afterwards on catchup TV at CTV+.

Excellent post on the train frequency upgrades announced yesterday for Melbourne and Victoria from Peter Parker.
It's very welcome news but also leaves significant gaps. E.g. the Ringwood Group will have a more frequent service at 11pm on a weekday than at 11am.

Bank card touch on option spotted at a myki gate at Footscray Station. Only this one had it available though.
New video out today, my first covering a topic in the ACT!
