This.💯
When you give an LLM instructions like “don’t make stuff up” the best you’re going to get is that the “make stuff up” machine will make stuff up that sounds a bit less like it’s making stuff up.
Getting people to treat them like they can actually think or understand instructions is all part of the con.

@whvholst@eupolicy.social @briankrebs@infosec.exchange I can’t imagine this being legal in the US either, presuming of course that we still had a government with any interest in enforcing existing laws.
The very notion of them claiming this is done with the user’s consent is beyond the pale. And just goes to demonstrate tech’s relationship with the concept of consent in the first place.

There’s a saying in Germany, “if nine people sit at a table with one nazi and don’t complain, you have ten nazis at a table”.
You can’t protect the right to express views that are fundamentally about denying rights to others without condoning that behavior.
You either respect people, or you don’t.

Mullvad is a political company fighting for free speech, free information and privacy, with two equal co-founders, co-owners and co-CEOs who fundamentally disagree on many issues. Daniel's donation to a political party is private and not part of Mullvad's mission. We protect the right to express and access views we disagree with. We welcome anyone sharing these core values, whatever their other opinions. We are happy to refund others who don't, where we can.

@thomasfuchs and all the proprietary information that went into making it, i.e. source code, CAD files, testing info, etc. (including server-side components and factory tooling) should need to be placed into escrow as part of any legal protections such as copyright. If the company fails to open the product, or goes out of business, it’s all released into public domain.

@stephaniewalter growing up I was told women don’t make good engineers because they lack spatial reasoning skills.
Anyone who believes this has never tried to sew. Mapping complex 3D shapes onto 2D surfaces, repeatedly inverting topologies, etc, all while aligning weave and patterns. Basic sewing skills that would melt many “engineer’s” brains.
IMO, if it’s “woman’s” work, it’s because men can’t handle it. If it’s “man’s” work, it’s because men felt threatened and excluded women.

Fun fact: if you think a cognitive impairment test is difficult, you have cognitive impairment.

@mold@yourwalls.today @mcc@mastodon.social @cwebber@social.coop that would be JSON-LD-50, the amount of JSON that kills 50% of the people exposed to it. Everyone has a different tolerance.
