Our response cannot rest in better phrasing alone. Integrity is shown through movement, presence, and shared risk. We affirm what matters by how we show up, protect others, and challenge harm through consistent behaviour. Change takes root when conviction becomes practice. Just as importantly, the metaphor invites me to wonder whether what we have painted, what we have created, is in fact that which we want. This ‘want,’ however, is not about an individual, but as a collective.
If what we have painted does not serve the beauty we are, perhaps we need to begin a new canvas together?

Owing to some recent posts across various platforms, I offer this for our #HiveMind reflection …
Today I am mindful of those who choose to serve publicly, from elected leaders to first responders, often at real personal cost. As someone who feels called to serve, I know my own opinions must always be tempered by a vocation that nurtures integrity and restraint. This shapes how I speak and how I listen. I invite us all to take care in how we refer to, post about, and speak of those in public service. Words have consequences. They can build understanding or erode it. I sincerely hope we choose language that reflects respect, even when we disagree deeply.

Justice is a central vocation and aspiration of our life’s journey. It is also a word that can be corrupted and watered down. It can even be weaponised against the very thing for which it aspires to establish: peace.
From my faith vantage, as a Christian, to hold on to this central component of my belief I need to remember that justice models acts that embody Love. This connexion, between justice and love, then allows for a constant frame of reference. If love does not inform just acts, then justice simply becomes another manner in which to oppress ourselves and one another.
