#homelab update!
Spent all of last night and a good chunk of today combining my compute and storage servers into a single machine! Will I regret this? Maybe. Is it cool as hell? Absolutely!
Using #proxmox as my host OS. Currently setting it up, and I can tell that it’ll be awesome, but it’s definitely got a learning curve. Currently setting up #openmediavault in a #virtualmachine and passing through my hard drives in a RAID. I will report back 🫡

My girlfriend is using my #Immich server to scan and organize a ton of old family photos, which is awesome! She’s having a ton of fun, and I’m happy that she’s finding it so useful.
BUT she is now uploading photos and videos in large batches, bringing Immich to its knees for a day or two at a time. I do not have its resources limited either, so it’s bringing the rest of my production VM to its knees too 😅
I’m gonna need to figure this out sooner rather than later…

Dear reader, not five minutes had passed before I managed to somehow lose network access on my server. It took me at least another 30 minutes to undo the damage I had done.

Side note: any other plant parents have tips on dealing with fungus gnats? My snake plant seemed to be in remission for a long time, but I think the gnats just stopped breeding when they were out of season.
I think I may go pick up some sand to put on top of the soil and see if that helps but I am getting pretty close to my wits end and throwing out the problematic plant is not off the table :(
