@fugueish@wandering.shop @_dm@infosec.exchange you can now have your agent wait for that selector to populate. I do think incorporating Workday has the benefit of aligning all classes of the corporate hierarchy on one common enemy. Hell even my wife in academia gets to complain about workday (they use it to schedule classes 😱)

"When things work well, it’s usually not because they were designed perfectly, but because they are constantly being debugged. We could use a whole lot more debugging muscle, which means a lot more low-temperature venues for feeding back to the legislature what’s making implementation so hard." "...a shocking number of elected officials told me without any shame that they rarely even knew what real world effect the laws they passed had had." -- Jennifer Pahlka, https://www.eatingpolicy.com/p/checking-in-on-outcomes-reviews This reminds me of the move within Google like 10 years ago to reward "landings" instead of "launches." It is a very important idea, to report on the longer-term impact of a project, though it continues to be hard to incentivize when leads want to move onto the next shiny thing rather than debug and understand recent attempts. It also requires some institutional knowledge sharing, so others can learn from your attempts. It's like publishing negative results -- a great idea for the whole, but doesn't get anyone promoted, so then it doesn't get done. 🤔

This is a thoughtful take on a very thoughtful take on how we must stear the emergence of AI so we maintain our humanity https://simonwillison.net/2026/May/25/encyclical-on-ai/#atom-everything

@lcamtuf@infosec.exchange this might be the logical evolution of your `#include "https://..."` idea

This is an amazing idea. It's nice to read good news.

UK is going to have its first effectively smoke free generation.

It would be an uphill battle to do the same in the US, but maybe there's a similar economic argument to make -- the health effects of smoking are very expensive, and the government bears a chunk of that. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/21/world/europe/uk-smoking-ban-2009.html

This is bad. Apple' API enabled anyone to anonymously track the movement of basically all wifi routers that weren't randomizing their BSSID. So, soldiers in war zones back to their home addresses, victims of domestic partner abuse, etc.

A very well written essay on how using AI as a crutch in school defeats the purpose of school. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-interactive/2026/may/10/fiction-writing-professor-ai

"Writing isn’t just the production of sentences – it’s the training of endurance by way of sustained attention. It’s a way of learning what one thinks by attempting to say it. An LLM can reproduce the appearance of that activity, but it can’t replace it, because the value lies not only in the object produced but in the transformation that occurs during its making."

This is bad, and we need to change the AI sycophancy. AI is going to massively scale up assholes in the world otherwise. We do not want that. We have enough already.

"On posts from r/AmITheAsshole, AI systems affirm users in 51% of cases where human consensus does not (0%). In our human experiments, even a single interaction with sycophantic AI reduced participants’ willingness to take responsibility and repair interpersonal conflicts, while increasing their own conviction that they were right." -- https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.aec8352

@jschuh@infosec.exchange it could be they were only focused on the privacy of their users. The API is more private (than Google's) in that it leaves the fine location calculations to the client. But it's horrendous for the AP owners, if they ever move.
