@anolandria@mastodon.social Agreed, as the child of a single parent I’ve had many many exhausting conversations with conservatives who straight-up tell me to my face it’s bad. I only argue that the love and care from one parent is enough. In fact it may have advantages as a single parent doesn’t have to deal with their own (sometimes fraught) relationship.
And often it ends up being about judging the real-world diversity of families, religious teaching and welfare. Thus ultimately about control.
Ready for a REALLY weird movie night at some point in the future.

So it’s the game nobody wants to play today. I do feel for the players tbh, they probably just want to get home with their families and put their feet up.
Still, I will be watching it just as a send-off to this England team who are a great bunch of very likeable players. The controversy around Tuchel will no doubt rumble on.

Honestly pleased to see the rain. I’m soooo hyped for this. What an occasion.

People who say retirement will be boring have forgotten that you can just turn into Tom Bombadil or Goldberry.

Planted some more chillis and some potatoes today. Was pretty disappointed in the quality from Burpees this year, the chilli plants were in really bad shape and usually they’re very reliable.
Also carrot seeds are taking shape nicely. These will have to be spaced out once they get a bit larger as I just threw a bunch of seeds in a trench and they’ve mostly all sprouted up. 🌱
These recent rain is helping a lot.
Enjoyed that!

I’m am so pumped for Japan v Brazil tomorrow and Netherlands v Morocco. Any of those four could go on and win this thing.

Lots of cool plants and flowers and stuff on the timeline today. Love to see it.
Yay it’s Bandcamp Friday! Time to make a teeny tiny dent in my wishlist.

@JulianOliver@mastodon.social In Arkansas a local AI Data Center (one of two proposed) was also approved despite public opposition. We had the farcical situation this week with the CEO of Central Arkansas Water saying that the facility will require 4M gallons of water per day. This was followed by news that Arkansas is going through a historic drought with water supplies in some areas already at dangerous lows.
State residents will get NOTHING significant in return for taking on board all kinds of risk.

@HailsandAles@metalhead.club Overall pick is:
Rope Sect - Persona Ingratae
Then honorable mentions:
Jane Weaver - Modern Kosmology
The Black Angels - Death Song
The Obsessed - Sacred
Black Cilice - Banished From Time
Blanck Mass - World Eater
Lots of good stuff that year imo.

@annaecook Agreed, Karp is so unfathomably awful it’s just hard to know where to start. If he never said anything ever again the world would be an infinitely better place.
Haven’t done a 5k road run in a bit, those uphill parts are way harder than the treadmill oof.

@TheVinylApe I know they have their detractors but this album is absolute fire from beginning to end. Agree it’s their best and thanks for the reminder.
@yourfutureex I lol’d.
PSG were really good tonight and that early goal just allowed them to sit back. I’d like to have seen Bayern throw the kitchen sink at it with 10-15 minutes left but understand the intense risk there.
What a player Kvaratskhelia is. A joy to watch.
The new Running Man movie was a bit lackluster I thought. And I really like Edgar Wright’s films in general but this didn’t have many of his hallmarks.
Preferred the Arnie movie honestly. But anyway, not trying to turn anyone off it, it was still pretty entertaining and had its moments.
