It's long since overdue that I post an introductory post, especially given life changes and the like. I'm Oro. Or Dallas. Or Yves. I use Dallas for most purposes, or Yves with friends; all are correct. I (don't) like to program. When I'm not screaming at my laptop, I'm doing schoolwork (currently working on an AAS in Computer #Programming), or other (modern?) housewife shenanigans, or working on cars and my truck. I like to use and contribute to the #GNOME ecosystem, which includes some custom pointer acceleration patches (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/4296 and https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gsettings-desktop-schemas/-/merge_requests/99) and testing and debugging for whatever problems I come across. Lately, I've also expanded to container native systems, and it gives me more of an insight on the systems I use daily such as #Bazzite and #Fedora Silverblue, and I've been #Linux-only for years now. There's more, but that just about covers the big stuff. I'll post more in a reply. I also fiddle with #Wayland, #Rust, and other stuff #FreeDesktop, #Flatpak, and #FOSS.

It feels so odd to come back to the fediverse after four years and see all of these people on my feed that I don't know but I also recognize, to some extent.

And then I see others that I definitely remember, and they're all still up to their old shitposting shenanigans (love y'all for that).

I've opted to set a Ko-fi goal to try and get some money to fix my vehicles. If you have a spare few bucks to throw my way, it would help immensely.

I would also like to use this money to, once everything is patched up, go out and find contract work so I can polish my programming skills. I have some work I want to do around Wayland that would benefit from that.

Just set up #kofi and #liberapay so that people can send me a few bucks if they want to.

Right now, anything I receive is going to make sure my life gets rolling, because I live in Texas and need a car, and barely have enough to buy a shitbox, and Uber-ing my way to work (if I can find any) is going to cost me more money than a car.

Once I have a mode of transportation I'll either look at starting college, or getting my CNA license (classes are in-person), so I won't have to worry about finances.

I'm fine currently though, so don't feel pressured into giving me money.

AMD does it all in the kernel. Intel also does it through firmware (basically going DP - > HDMI at a hardware level).

Everyone should totally send me like, $5. No particular reason why. It's not like my birthday is coming up in seven days (Oct 9).

I'm definitely not gonna put this money towards getting a reliable vehicle, since my current one is a Shitbox™. Or funding me putting some more work into Linux. I kinda wanna redesign the ProxyResolver portal.
