@V@tabletop.social Honestly the bigger thing that appeals to me is the aspect of being able to safely explore otherwise hurtful scenarios or complicated feelings? I feel like a lot of allo people use kink for that too so it's not that different. There's still a lot of other positive feelings associated with kink for people (subspace, meltyness, feelings of comfort, safety, intimacy, ...) and those don't really go away if you remove the sex part.
There's this pattern which II first noticed in regards to sex workers where a group of people is affected by literally the exact same issues and injustices as everyone else but something about their nature makes the injustice so obvious that it punches right through the mental shield that protects everyone from seeing the inhumanity of society. And rather than accept that inhumanity, people respond to that by lashing out at those people for making them feel bad about their world.
This is really the upsetting part. That the idea of just regulating tech companies and not just letting them grind everyone's brain into a thin paste for ad revenue has become so unimaginable that it's preferable to just ruin a whole bunch of people's lives so you don't have to see it also happening to people who you can't bring yourself to victim blame.
@scarlet there used to be this kid in my school who would have his laptop on him and like, manually DJ the whole day just for his headphones, i wonder what he's doing now :D
@darkroom@shitpost.trade@aura@gts.foxsnuggl.es ooooh I love the look, I assume you self developed it? :o I was wondering about this stuff but getting it developed seemed like a pain ^^
@4diejungs@social.treehouse.systems I think it's neat that there's a project which has an independent design vision for user-first desktop linux instead of just copying everything from windows or osx or making everything a parameter dump,
however,
