@veronica@explains.social @simonzerafa@infosec.exchange I wonder how many people actually use the Windows Store but besides that I agree. You can generally just search for an app and install it. Though I've came across some apps that had Flatpak versions that were more limited than other versions. AppImages can also be simply opened in some distros (unfortunately not all).

@gamingonlinux@mastodon.social that's really nice, Wine is all about backwards compatibility so it makes sense to declare that as the official version, although now I wonder if this also means that only the Wine version would stay updated. Also I don't really like how much control MS has over .NET but I guess it's still their thing.

@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social Also, Fedora defaulted to Wayland even for Nvidia proprietary drivers but Discord and games were glitching so I went back to X11.

@keirFox while I'm aware that these things exist I'm barely exposed to them thankfully. For YouTube I use SponsorBlock and DeArrow which gets rid of a lot of the sensationalism and ads.

@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social heh I should've waited with my Windows install so I could've said Linux only. I had to install it recently to play games that, while working *perfectly* on Linux, refuse to let me play online because of #anticheat.
