@briankrebs@infosec.exchange I'm increasingly content with keeping my HDTV from around 2010. It has three HDMI inputs and that's all I need.
I rode to a friend's place in East Van today. The city's finished building a protected bike lane on (most of) Pacific heading east, which is pretty great. I rode back across the Cambie St Bridge, and figured out how to get on the protected bike lane that goes straight all the way to the West End. It's exciting seeing our cycling infrastructure getting better, and there were lots of people riding around. 🎉
I want to go for lunch, but I also want to wait a while so the restaurant will be quieter. Curse this terrible Tacofino traffic torment!

Hey, this is officially my main account now. 😁

@henry@radikal.social @streetartutopia@mastodon.online Yeah. I had the instant impulse to boost the tweet, because it's such a striking comparison, but there's no provenance. I tried to find a source via reverse image search, but it's all social media posts.

@dansinker@omfg.town Good write-up. I've never heard of this book, but that kind of story is invaluable for kids trying to figure out the world.
I set up my old masto to redirect to this account. Woo!
Since I'm tweeting, I saw *Legally Blonde: The Musical* last night. It has basically the same plot as the movie, but they rejiggered the characters a bit and added a bunch of songs. It's fun!

@startswithabang@mastodon.social On the plus side, this post taught me about the hexagon at Saturn's north pole. I had no idea.
Hawksley Workman's f-bomb at the start of "We will still need a song" is an all-time classic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRvIUGTGiYA
As per my @VisionZeroYVR@mstdn.ca RT earlier, today's the last day to contact city council to support (or oppose) the Safe Streets plan. We have 'til five o'clock!
I clicked the "Send a pre-written email" button at https://visionzerovancouver.ca/2026/05/26/safe-streets-plan/ to load all the addresses into my mail client, then rewrote the message.
It's Go By Bike Week again. The hill from Gilford to Bute is deadly, but I almost managed to bike it without a break, and even then my break was cycling half a block on a level cross street so I could catch my breath. Huzzah!
I backed ETU: Fresh Blood at just about the last second. It's a Savage Worlds setting crossing university hijinks with horror. As Wayne from Fear the Boot put it long ago, it's season four of Buffy but good.

@mikepmoffatt@mastodon.social Yeah, metrics are tricky. "Homeowners to population" strikes me as much closer to what we're trying to measure.

@dansinker@omfg.town What was the interview with Colbert about? I take it this was during *The Colbert Report*, yeah?

@preinheimer@phpc.social I remember taking some perverse glee when the east started getting hit by smoke a few years ago, but ... No. This is terrible, and we need to do something to stop all these fires. 🙁

@ChrisIstace@socialbc.ca You can take a bike on Hullo? Huh... That could be a fun trip, taking my bike to Nanaimo and exploring around. :D

@ChrisIstace@socialbc.ca Oh wow! I was going to ask how you got from HSB to Vancouver. That's quite a ride. 😁
