I've been in the video games industry for going on 30 years (mostly) as a thoroughly average programmer. For the past 12+ years I’ve focused on pretty much every aspect of Augmented Reality. I've been very lucky.
Loves: #RetroGames, current games, #TheMuppets, classic simpsons quotes, #MST3k & #RiffTrax, #FilmNoir, #Philosophy, #TheKLF, #Pinball, #TwinPeaks and generally trying to pretend I understand things. #ActuallyAutistic

This is utterly brilliant from The Onion. They’ve completed their takeover of infowars.com (for real) and are laying out their vision for the new, improved infowars.
“At Long Last, InfoWars Is Ours
By Bryce P. Tetraeder, CEO, Global Tetrahedron”
“The InfoWars of tomorrow will converge into a swirling vortex of content about content, talent acquiring talent, rings of concentric media mergers processing all human artistry into one endlessly digestible slurry. This will be a dank, sunless place, one where panic and capital feed on each other like twins in the womb of a hulking, unknowable monster—a monster known by many names, but which I like to call modern-day America.”
I still find it wild that journos still treat Elon as a reasonable human being after he gave 2 nazi salutes at the inauguration of the US president just over a year ago.
I’m still slowly working my way through my travel journal from late march thru mid April, printing out photo stickers (I have a canon eve which I love), and sorting through the myriad of bits of paper I collected (exhibition tickets, postcards, stickers, programmes etc).
Just came across a postcard of Georg Guðni Hauksson’s Untitled (2008) which was part of the extensive “Resistance” collection of Icelandic art on display at the House of Collections in Reykjavík. I bought several postcards of different works; but this was my favourite. At the checkout the guy behind the counter said “oh I love this one! It’s my favourite” and I said it was mine too. A lovely brief moment of shared connection

@mysk@mastodon.social Interesting! meta's official facebook plugin for unity (game engine) phones home multiple times per day in app's that include it*. Meta intentionally ignores the user's do not track request for those pings.. this is regardless of whether the user has ever tried to auth with FB.
I spent ~2.5 years trying to get my last employer to ditch it, but the company denied it was happening for most of that time, then punted it to meta to "fix" (if FB auth support was that important, then we could've easily rolled own own web view based flow that's only invoked if needed).
The mobile games the company produce are huge, and include an enormous amount of sensitive user data... and that's just one developer - the plugin is widely used.
- this was over a year ago so perhaps meta decided to do the right thing by users..
