Off to #RIPE92 in sunny Edinburgh. Looking forward to a great meeting and, most importantly, hanging out with some of the coolest folks to ever run the Internet!

Tonight in Europe you will be visited by one very annoying Thief of Time! (Such bullshit!)

I've heard many "welcome to my city" dignitary speeches over the years. I think the Lord Provost of Edinburgh may have just given one of the best ones at #RIPE92, nothing particularly novel, but delivered in an very good style!

Kickstarter should really have a limit on how long someone should be able to send you a project update. This thought brought to you by suddenly getting an update from Amanda Palmer on a project from 8 years ago and she can FRO.

Excellent, Daniel Ennis elected in #DublinCentral in a triumph of good politics over hate. I wish him and his party all the best.

Haggis (and tattie scones!) finally arrived in the coffee break food at #RIPE92. So very tasty, but probably good for me they haven't appeared at every break! (The food at the EICC has been tasty overall, if not particularly exciting.)

#RIPE92 is over, long live #RIPE93!

The #HugoAwards finalists are out, and what a list it is. Congrats to all of the amazing people on there and to everyone who was nominated at all. Yay, thank you for all the amazing things you make and do! And thank you to those administering the awards! https://www.lacon.org/hugofinalists/ #LAconV

On the eve of a day when, for myriad and different reasons, large portions of the world celebrate Ireland's national day, this is a fantastic message from the President. https://president.ie/en/diary/details/st-patricks-day-message-from-president-catherine-connolly

@sash@hachyderm.io 's #RIPE92 talk on vulnerabilities, tags and responsible disclosure was excellent and you should absolutely watch it on ripe92.ripe.net (it'll be up there in about 5 minutes).

Ah, no! Just hearing the news that the wonderful Ian Watson has died. Ian was full of the joys of everything, especially European fandom, and he will be sadly, sadly missed. My love to all his friends and family.

Well, that's not the result I wanted, at all. A fifth lost final, but grats to Bordeaux, absolutely dominant throughout the championship. Can't see Leinster getting stronger next season given who's leaving, but sure you never know! #LEIvBOR #ERPC

The RIPE Security Working Group session at RIPE 92 is coming up today at 16:00 WEST and we have a packed agenda! https://ripe92.ripe.net/programme/meeting-plan/sessions/79/ If you aren't in Edinburgh at the meeting, you can watch live here: https://ripe92.ripe.net/live/side/

Lovely ceremony today with the church not just full but overflowing with friends and family there to remember Dave, to mourn him and to celebrate his life. A fitting send off and he will be long, long remembered. #GNUDaveRoe

At half-time, well, this isn't going well. #LEIvBOR #ERPC

Two very important by-elections today! One in Dublin, one in Galway, please go out and vote. And preferably vote left and transfer left!

#LEIvBOR has kicked off and this is going to be a huge match. Bordeaux have to be the favourites, but #COYBIB! #EPRC

Last Irish match of the #W6N is #IREvSCO and Ireland have made a great start, scoring more than a point a minute at 30m in front of a record crowd!

It's the last #URC regular season match today, #LEIvOSP. A win puts Leinster 2nd in the URC ahead of the European final next week. Ye gods, that wasn't my expectation after the first few matches of the season! Glad I was wrong.
