On Saturday it was Liverpool Makefest at Liverpool Central Library and we were taking part. At a rough count, three MiaB were there, two of ours and one that belonged to the Library, showing the #Unearthed collection.
But, what a fantastic day and so lovely to be able to tell so many people, the story behind MiaB.

New delivery! That should keep the Museum in a Box production line going for a few batches...
We had a visit to the archives dept. of Liverpool Central Library this morning to chat about their plans for the Museums in Boxes they've got.
We also learned that their collection includes an American flag that has been on the moon!!! 🤯 🚀 🌔 🇺🇸
Hi! 👋
We're Museum in a Box. We make Internet-connected boxes you can fill with stories, which are unlocked by placing objects or postcards onto the box.
The Royal Mint Museum has one of the largest fleets of Museums in Boxes - 76; and they're the most travelled. They've sent them out to over 1600 care homes all across the UK over the past four years, racking up nearly 25,000 boops!
This #MaintenanceMonday @amcewen@mastodon.me.uk is working through a bunch of them that have come back to HQ for some TLC and repair work
Last week we had an interesting chat with some folk doing lots of good work with Braille and accessibility, as they're exploring how Museum in a Box could help with that.
They told us about the excellent work being done with Braille and 3D printing by the Mountain Lakes Library Makerspace.

It's great when we get to see MiaB in action.
This one arrived at the Headwaters River Center in Colorado last month and is up and running helping visitors understanding the geography of the area already. Some of that is an assumption as they have what we think is a 3D print of the area sitting on it. 🙂
Thanks to them for the use of the photo.
Geordies! On Friday @amcewen@mastodon.me.uk will be at Rise and Design: Design in the Heritage Sector to talk about (and show off) Museum in a Box.
