@arstechnica college lecturer here. I dont deal with essays much so can't comment on that, but I did have a student the other week use an LLM to prep for a debate. She could provide no rebuttal or answers to points of information but just stood there and read a summary of the digital protection act (UK) when supposed to be arguing against banning social media for under 16s. Was completely slated by her team afterwards.

@ZachWeinersmith totally get this. Over the last ten years I've gone from a rugby playing city guy who was never particularly huge to a scrawny but strong smallholder/homesteader. I do jiujitsu once a week but otherwise my exercise is hauling animal feed or timber around the property. Would be interesting to get back on a rugby pitch and see how performance over 80 minutes has changed.

I've lurked long enough so here is my intro post!

I'm Mike, Scottish living in Scotland having been around a bit including living for a while in South Africa and London.

I'm autistic with traits of ADHD which helps me in my work as an employability lecturer to additional support needs students with an added interest in DEI and neuro-friendly workplace practice.

It also gives me a wide range of interests including but not limited to: homesteading, retro gaming, game development, DnD, painting.

@nicemicro @arstechnica organic by any chance? I used to teach high school chem. We had an inspection one day when I was teaching organic mechanisms and the management checked the students work, went wide-eyed and later told me it looked fine.
