A bit late on this, but it's time for Mollie's yearly Sega shelf update!
Here's my current Genesis/MD collection going into 2026, versus at the start of 2024 and 2022.
Didn't grow a crazy amount over 2025, but last year WAS a great year for new releases, adding 6 new games to my shelf through those alone.
I’d totally missed this until someone messaged me about it, but NCS Corp’s Mega Drive strategy game Vixen 357 is getting an English-language Western release!
A lot of the late localizations we’ve been getting recently have been shooters, so this is a nice surprise!
It's that time again!
Here's my Genesis & Mega Drive collection as of January 2025, versus the starts of 2024, 2023, and 2022.
Pretty big boost to my Japanese games due to my trip last summer, and got a couple cheap bundles on the Genesis side.
Somewhere out there is a universe where the #PSP used MiniDiscs instead of UMDs—and that universe has world peace right now.
Thanks a lot our universe Sony.
For the latest episode of the Generic Video Game Podcast, there was only one topic Anthony and I could talk about: the NeoGeo+.

Unbelievably, 35 years after its US launch, there are enough new games coming for the Sega Genesis that it can be hard to keep track.
Now, you don't have to! I've launched the Mega Drive Tracker, a site that catalogs all the new physical releases coming to Sega's 16-bit console.
Don't know what everyone was freaking out over yesterday. I've already got that 30th anniversary #PlayStation with the pro controller. No big deal. 🤷♀️
Might I interest you in almost 16-and-a-half minutes of Data East talking about why the characters from Fighter's History are not copies of those from Street Fighter II?
I want to talk more about one of the really cool parts of this campaign—the companion website I built—a bit later, but for now, the big project I've been working on this year has finally been announced!
As the year comes to a close, 2024 saw 12 new physical releases come to the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive.
We got four brand new games, seven reprints, and one promotional "game" for the third Sonic movie.
How is the future looking? So far, I'm tracking 29 games potentially coming in 2025, with two more targeting 2026.
The full list for 2024 is here—and let me know if I've missed anything!
We have our first Sega Genesis / Mega Drive physical release announcement of 2025!
Retro-bit is bringing us P-47 II MD, a game originally finished and intended for release by Jaleco 35 years ago before its launch was cancelled.
(No update yet on Retro-bit's temporarily-paused second Toaplan set.)
Today we have one of my dumbest video game purchases ever: DS Terebi, an accessory for watching TV on a #NintendoDS that is useless in the States (and maybe now Japan), and DSvision, an accessory for getting content from a media service that I believe no longer exists.
$60 for two useless items!
On the latest Generic Video Game Podcast, Anthony and I talk about the PS5 Pro, the return of Capcom vs SNK, the death of Game Informer (and Concord), and more!

We picked up a neat mid-century bookcase over the weekend for a paltry $5, which meant that, after putting it in the living room, there was finally a place to store some of our media collection.
I decided to stick to only one shelf, so here's what made the cut:
