"Do you want to be heard, helped, or hugged?" --Jancee Dunn by way of Julia Minson
It's funny--every time I charge my car I look around to see if any local TV folks want my opinion about gas prices. Nobody ever asks....
Actual text message I sent today:
Was in the 18th century before, could not take calls. Home now, can chat.
People always try to discredit #solar panels with "what about when it snows in New England????"
And it has been our experience (over 10 years) that the next morning most of the snow has slid off (except at the very bottom edge).
Our panels have been producing today, 1 day post-#Blizzard. As usual.
Here is the array on our roof today. The bottom row corresponds to the roof edge ones, and you can see which ones still have snow.
Taking a class via The Lace Museum on #sprang. I have wanted to try this, largely from a historical textiles perspective.
But it's just really fun so far! I am enjoying thinking about the thread paths in a new way. And it has such a cool springy expandable function. How handy that must have been before elastic!

Whew. Just filled up the car. $7.71
Some of you may enjoy this. From tonight's WCVB's 11pm newscast.
How I'm managing my US anxiety right now: thinking constantly about my #LostCanadian application and digging in to the family story.
I found the ship they took to #Boston today.

He Warned About the Dangers of A.I. If Only His Father Had Listened.
Ben Riley was already writing about the risks of chatbots when his dad started trusting A.I. over his doctor.
I realized after I started making lace that it was much more stretch and elastic than I would have expected because we are all afraid to touch museum pieces.... But I totally get this.
Another unexpected rock side quest today. I finally saw the #Dighton rock. Been on my bucket list for years.
It's...curious.
It's in a purpose build "museum" from the 1970s. I don't think the exhibit has been updated since. It needs some refreshing.
But the rock is neat.
And there's a phone number to call a Mass DCR person and they come over and open it up. I had the place to myself.

I watched the chestnut restoration projects proceed, and I'm delighted to see this side effect.
Happy #TartanDay to those who celebrate. I'm wearing the Black Watch today.
Oh my. Today's rabbit hole (as a result of yesterday's visit to the antique lace pillow) was pins. Anna's pillow had the old wire-head pins in 1820. So I began to wonder about when pin technology transitioned. It was about 20 years later.
But it led me to this fascinating animation of a pin manufactory! The print is animated in each room as you scroll down the "explore" links.
I had not heard of the #DonaldDash before.

Hey #Massholes: if you are an #EV driver you can get into the #Eversource managed charging program now.
I hear #NationalGrid has one too, but mine is this one so this is the one I know about.
I was unable to resist the look at the cat with 4 ears.
