A stunning full moon tonight over Trumbull, CT.
(It is predicted that we will see a red “blood” moon Tuesday morning around 6:04 AM. But we may have too many clouds by then to see it.)

Blue hyacinth flowers. (Yes, they are technically purple, but the color is classified as blue.)
The pollinators are out and about, enjoying the arrival of a real Spring weather day - warm and sunny.

Our neighborhood black squirrel found a bagel in the backyard and proved herself to be a somewhat messy eater. :-)

Houston, we have APPLE BLOSSOMS!

Most of the daffodils are now past peak. But this one is still PERFECT.

Mr. Cardinal appears to have framed himself! (Get it?)

The daffodils in our garden are tiny but radiant. They declare their joy at the arrival of Spring for all to see. (The big ones will come later.)

The Spring Flowers are *loving* this weather. Daffodils, hyacinths, and crocuses are bursting with color.
Tonight was a wonderful cloudy orange-hued sunset over Trumbull, CT.
The common starling can be frustrating due to their squawk and tendency to swarm bird feeders. But their feathers under the right light are prismatic.
We tossed some cashews out into the back yard and it turned into an exciting. The crows gobbled them up, but the squirrels buried them (when burying a nut, apparently SMOOSHING your face into the ground is required).
We saw our first “Connecticut - The Pizza State” vanity license plate in the wild today!
(License plate # removed for privacy of the driver.)
It’s a rough day to be a cardinal - soggy and cold in the rain - but it’s a little bit better when you have a birdfeeder at your beck and call.

FYI, squirrels also love corn muffins!

Even cardinals have the occasional bad hair day!

First daffodil of Spring 2026!
It’s a wonderful time of year to be a crocus! Chilly enough to ensure you have the garden all to yourself, but warm and sunny enough to joyfully open the flowers every day.

Mr. Cardinal is looking much less miserable today… but as stern as always. :-)
Maybe the last snowfall of the season for Trumbull, CT.

Blue Jays are synonymous with “attitude”. From their colors to their screeching call, they demand attention.
The sunset skies were glorious tonight, full of vibrant fire. Truly a feast for the eyes!

This morning's snowstorm didn't slow down our local downy woodpeckers. :-)

Red-bellied woodpeckers either look deadly-serious or extremely-silly. There is no middle ground with them.

It was so cold overnight (low of 25 F/-3.9 C) that the bird bath froze solid!

It’s appropriate that our first rabbit sighting of the season should be Easter weekend!

Apparently, Sunday was NOT the last snow for this winter. :-)

Catch a female cardinal in the right light, and she is just as colorful and fascinating as her red-hued husband.
There are many flaws to this photo, but it is so hard to get a nice shot of a cardinal in flight that I had to share it.
They had some beautiful daffodils at Stop & Shop for $4 this week, so we picked up a pot for Mom. She feels like each is a little Spring sun shining just for her.
As soon as the sun came out, the downy woodpeckers were hard at work gathering food. I think they are making up for time lost yesterday and Sunday due to the blizzard!
