#TIL about UUID7 (mainly because it's now supported in the new #python 3.14). Until today I thought, why bother, uuid4 is fine.
Turns out, UUID7 comes with a free timestamp and the generated ids sort by time.

I have a few projects where I use UUID4 for temporary files - I'm going to move these over to UUID7

I had an urgent 🔥need to add sqlite3 caching to a project last week and wrote my own little caching class. Soon this turned into too much work when clever cache invalidation was needed.
So I added diskcache as a secondary cache and have then refactored the code into using it and today could delete my own Quick and Dirty Caching Class.

Getting ready for #PyConDE
One thing I always do is to make sure I have Python, all libraries I usually use and my most used editors (PyCharm, Jupyterlab) updated and a local copy of *everything needed to set up a fresh PC offline.

I also start thinking about my "Wishlist" - which is a note of what topics to chat about on my phone. For example: Typst, Forgejo, Debugpy, Beeware on Android.
Are you coming? I highly recommend having a list like that.
I love @joplinapp@mastodon.social. Apart from one detail.
The "markdown" editor is not real raw text, but tries to format what I enter. Which makes it hard to enter text and copying/pasting source code into it.
This is different from any other markdown editor I have - usually they have a window to type in with no formatting and a markdown rendering preview.
On the PC you can make the Joplin editior more like markdown by creating your own userchrome.css file.
