At least Windows Virus protection can protect me from me voluntarily changing settings in my games, that I own.

a mystery really

@Tutanota@mastodon.social needing constant vigilance on all fronts is tiring and they know it

@tinker authoritarianism sees no issues here

True for every media platform and social network as well given enough time

@pheonix@hachyderm.io the vast majority of my searches online see me hitting (and blocking) 2 or 3 AI slop pages before I get to an actual answer written by a human. Usually that website has a Cloudflare check first to make it is not me who is an AI. Those are the two options on the internet today: the website is AI or you are AI

@johansaxe@mastodon.nu post the slop, spot the the slop, stop the slop

@AaronDavid@mastodon.world and the Nazis being the bad guys would be seen as politically divisive

I have used gimp at work with several employers. I know what Gimp means but never thought twice about it. If I stopped at every double-entendre I can spot or other word association I can come up with, I'd never get anything done

@opalfroot yes I notice it. people stop thinking, they, at best, review AI's thinking. and more likely just eyeball it or let you eyeball it for them. any attempt at a reflection is met with "AI can help with that", nipping in the bud any chance at a deeper conversation

@Merovius@chaos.social the same EU that wants age verification everywhere and digital passports only available on certified hardware just in the same way as what's described here? I wouldn't hold my breath

@sibrosan@mastodon.social it's not? and I don't see that it is what they said anywhere

@sibrosan@mastodon.social there's probably a case to be made that failing at a lower price is better than failing at the much higher price of a big name. question is how likely are both outcomes

@Asbestos@pnw.zone in reality, those making informed, reasoned decisions should come out on top more often than not, but people only see the outliers and would rather pick those that turn out to be right by luck than go for (complicated) reasonings that are anyway not guaranteed to pay off
